It’s Shankar’s style!!

Director Shankar is a perfectionist! And a terrible taskmaster too! When he shoots for the day, he has everything planned not only in his mind but also on paper. He takes great care in planning a scene and pays attention to the last detail. If he needed a paper-weight on a table for a particular scene, he would send his assistant to get him one. He was prepared to wait for an entire day to have his paper-weight. He never compromises.

ShankarOnce the shooting is over for the day, he would pack up and then go to the lab to see the rushes. If he was dissatisfied with a particular patch, he would re-shoot the same scene the next day. Such is the style of working of this perfectionist. This is the reason why he takes so many months to complete a project. There is another aspect to his style. He works only 15 days a month. The other 15 days are days of rest and relaxation. No wonder this man keeps his cool and manages to make remarkable movies.

What a scene! Lovely background! If you hear such comments in a movie theatre, you are surely watching a Shankar movie.
